Minchenden, a fine Netball club with a great tradition, who run a number of teams, have relocated their training base to the excellent floodlit Netball facilities at St Thomas More School. We've been trying to get a club there for some years and this is an absolute result.

Dare 2 Dance Women's Empowerment Day at Park View

89 girls from four schools took part at the Dare 2 Dance Empowerment day at Park View Academy. One girl described the event as "D2D gave me a good experience about what dance is and how to dance. In today's programme I can't say that I liked one thing in particular in fact I liked EVERYTHING. Thank you!" For all interested girls a Dare 2 Dance club started on Tuesdays at PVA.

Budding tennis players at some of Haringey¹s Primary Schools were thrilled when two very special guests dropped in to watch their tennis festival at White Hart lane Community Sports Centre. Five times Olympic Gold Medallist, Sir Steve Redgrave, on his first day as Olympics Ambassador was accompanied by the Sports Minister, Gerry Sutcliffe, to see how the tennis programme, funded by the ŒSport Unlimited¹ initiative, works in Haringey.

During my first few years as SSCO, netball was not taught in any of the primary schools and that meant at Highgate Wood, we were teaching students coming into Year 7 the basics of netball and consequently did very poorly in the Haringey Secondary Schools netball league.
