Free tennis coaching for primary schools at Tottenham Green

To increase participation in our tennis programme at White Heart Lane Tennis Club and our new winter venue, Tottenham Green, we are once again, offering free tennis coaching at schools, working with Year 3.

The Lawn Tennis Association, Tottenham Hotspur and the London Borough of Haringey are funding the project and we are working in association with Dave Thomas, Partnership Development Manager of Haringey.

If you decide to get involved, your school will be given:

* 8 x 2 hour coaching sessions during school hour

* Inter-school tennis tournament and festival for the 6 most athletically gifted children from each participating class.

In return we ask that your school:

* Provide us with a copy of a generic risk assessment of your school facilities Distribute our tennis leaflets to all the pupils at your school.

* The Lawn Tennis Association are funding the project and all participants chosen to participate in the inter-school tournament (12 children in total) are required to become British Tennis Members (this is a free membership) and provide their: surname, forename, gender, Date of birth, ethnicity, disability, address and postcode. Please ensure that all school children participating in the inter-school tournament are happy to become British Tennis members and provide us with the data specified above. This data will only be used by the Lawn Tennis Association and White Hart Lane Tennis Club and will not be passed on to any other organisations

You can either have the coaching sessions take place on our tennis courts or within your own school yard or sports hall. All our coaches are fully qualified, licensed Lawn Tennis Association coaches and have been CRB checked.

The School outreach programme will start on the 9th January 2012 and the tournament will take place in March 2012.

Due to funding restrictions, only a limited number of schools can participate. To register your school, please confirm a regular weekly time that my coaches can come in and work with the children. This must be a regular weekly block of 2 hours and with one class of year 3 and then the other class of year 3.
